Peace Day and Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes

September 21st was the International Day of Peace designated by the United Nations.

Peace One Day highlights some of the ideas and projects undertaken to promote peace and day of ceasefire around the world.

The Kids Peace Station website run by the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum has detailed information about the story of "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes" and the war times. As we work to fold 1000 origami cranes for Remembrance Day, you may find the folding instructions on the Origami Club website useful.
